Matthew Earl Wells, M.D.

Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr. Wells is fellowship trained in sports medicine and board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery since 2008 and has been in private practice since 2005. Growing up in New Jersey, he developed a love for South Florida during the years that were invested in completing the intense University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Orthopedic Surgery Residency. He completed his sports medicine fellowship under Dr. James Andrews at the prestigious American Sports Medicine Institute. He believes deeply in the patient-doctor relationship and continues to see all his patients personally. Dr. Wells specializes in shoulder, knee, hip, elbow, and ankle injuries and prides himself in healing patients, when possible, without surgery. Dr Wells has been utilizing platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections for over 12 years for several conditions.

Matthew Earl Wells, M.D.  is a board certified orthopedic surgeon in Fort Lauderdale Florida. Dr. Wells has several publications in addition to research experience. This includes topics on Ligament Reconstruction in Throwing Athletes, and work on patient outcomes related to the subject of Peritrochanteric Femur Fractures. Dr. Wells is affiliated with Level 1 Trauma at the Broward Health Medical Center where he also works with and assists in the clinical education of orthopaedic residents.

Dr. Wells has also been active in sports medicine for local and national teams, most recently dedicating his time to U15 youth soccer teams.
