David L. Nigen, M.D
David L. Nigen, M.D. is a board-certified, fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery. He treats all athletic injuries and traumas to both the upper and lower extremities. Dr. Nigen completed his fellowship in Sports Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City and served as chief resident in orthopedic surgery at the University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital, one of the busiest trauma centers in the country. Prior to moving back to South Florida, Dr. Nigen served as an assistant team physician for the New York Jets and New York Islanders. He also provided care to the University of Miami Hurricane football, basketball, and soccer teams, as well as the Miami Marlins baseball team. Dr. Nigen graduated in the top of his class at Florida State University College of Medicine after graduating Cum Laude from the University of Florida. Dr. Nigen has authored orthopedic research papers and given countless presentations around the country regarding sports injuries and surgeries. He enjoys volunteering with his not-for-profit organization OrthoNations in Vietnam and Nepal where he operates and teaches surgeons from around the world.
